The PTSA supports the students, faculty and school through our volunteers.
Please consider any area... every moment is appreciated.

Here are just some of the ways our volunteers affect change at RHS. Please complete the form below to receive emails on how you can help RHS this year.

PTSA Executive Board

These are elected positions that are nominated and voted in by members of the PTSA. This board includes President, Treasurer and Secretary. Vice President and/or President-Elect are optional positions we prefer to have filled.

PTSA School Store

This is PTSA's largest source of recurring funds from food sales in our store located in the cafeteria. Helpers are needed during lunch daily. Find a friend, pick a day each month to help out and join the fun!

Hospitality

Help our Hospitality Chair plan and implement monthly events in support of RHS Staff. Pick up or send in food and other items as requested. Set up and serve at various events.

Friends of Riverside - Business Partners

A great volunteer opportunity for parents/guardians that are not afraid to approach local businesses to partner with Riverside High! Can be done mostly from home via phone and email. Flexible hours and training provided! Specific sponsorship details can be found HERE.

Communications

Be the face of PTSA by marketing our brand! This includes managing and maintaining the RHS PTSA Website, as well as creating content to market our Business Partners, events and volunteer needs to be distributed through the Warrior Press and on social media. A work from home opportunity with flexible hours.

Volunteer Coordinator

Assist PTSA Board and Student Council in recruiting adult volunteers to assist in our many events and programs, including maintaining email distribution lists. A work from home opportunity with flexible hours.

Sunshine Committee / Corresponding Secretary

Organize goodie bags, cards, and monthly cakes to celebrate our RHS Staff's birthdays. Write any correspondence to our partners to thank them for their contributions to RHS. A mainly work from home opportunity with flexible hours.

Membership

Implement the annual PTSA Membership Drive, as well as track and keep the Board apprised of our membership numbers for the sake of quorum. A work from home opportunity with flexible hours.

Suicide Prevention Week

Volunteers support the various activities for this week in September.

Spirit Week
Lots of volunteers needed to help support Student Council for various activities planned throughout the week before, during, and after school.

Student Government Liaison

Serve as the link between Student Council and PTSA. Ensure PTSA is aware of StuCo activities and help coordinate volunteers for StuCo events.

Mini-Grants

PTSA prides itself on supporting our RHS Staff and their educational needs. Twice annually at the beginning of each semester, we accept applications to evaluate for awarding mini-grants to staff for educational needs that aren't being satisfied through the school or district.

Homecoming

Help is needed to chaperone the Homecoming Dance each fall.

Red Ribbon Week

Volunteers help plan and execute activities for the week in late October before and during school.

Veterans Day Events

Help plan and execute activities at RHS to support the military during November, especially those current students with family members, as well as past students and their families who are serving our country. Includes coordination with the Red Cross Club on implementing the annual Battle of the Bins Fundraiser for Vets.

We See You, Riverside Week

Volunteers help plan and execute activities throughout the year related to Mental Health awareness, as well as assist in any Student Council needs for the week in spring.

Reflections

This is the national PTA's signature event to recognize and award students in the arts. Students are encouraged to participate in one or more of the categories: literature, visual arts, photography, film production, music composition, and dance choreography. Volunteers assist in promoting the program to students, collecting entries, and coordinating judging and awards at RHS. A work from home opportunity with flexible hours.

Advocacy

As representatives of the parents, teachers, and students, it is important that we help advocate for topics and issues that affect us. From time to time, the PTSA will ask its members to reach out to our local and state legislators for support.

Share YOUR talents

If there's something not mentioned that you'd like to share with the PTSA - please let us know!

Other events come up where help is needed. Please be sure to check the Warrior Press in addition to completing the form below.
